Gov nowledge the receipt of your letter 140876/15 of the

13th instant enclosing a copy of the Hongkong Companies

Ordinance 1915.

Sir E. Grey concurs in the terms of this Ordin-

ance, and would suggest for the consideration of the

Secretary of State for the Colonies that it would be de-

sirable that it should come into force as nearly as

possible simultaneously with the China (Companies) Order

in Council 1915, and that this could be ensured by com-

municating the date to be inserted in Article 19 of the

Order in Council by telegraph to Hongkong as soon as the

date is fixed.
